Neuropsychologist Dr. Stan Rodski and brain scientist Dr. Joel Pearson both agree. In an interview, Dr. Rodski shares his belief that coloring for adults can encourage a relaxed state as the coloring individual focuses their attention on the detail and intricacies of a particular image. Similarly, Dr. Pearson explains that the therapeutic effect can be further understood by considering that the image you are coloring replaces any negative ones you may be harboring.

Fidget spinners are toys not unlike yo-yo or other skill toys, designed to spin with little effort. A basic fidget spinner usually consists of a two- or three-pronged design with a bearing in its center circular pad. However, the number of prongs may vary – some may have six or more. A person holds the center pad while the toy spins. They are made from various materials including brass, stainless steel, titanium, copper, aluminium, and plastic. The bearings are generally ceramic, metal (stainless steel or chrome), and some are hybrids—such as ceramic balls with stainless races and cages. Each fidget spinner also has two or more weights on the outside that make it spin faster and stay balanced. Bearings can vary to adjust for the design’s spin time, vibration, and noise, causing unique sensory feedback.

Me and my wee lad are big fans of Disney's movies. So you can be sure I always have Disney pictures on standby. Give him anything with Pluto or Donald Duck on and he will be very happy! Even the newer Disney stars like Handy Manny are very popular with him and I am happy that like all of their products, these characters are positive role models. You don't have to worry about anything your child may see when they are watching a Disney show! My secret wish and hope is that when he grows a little he will enjoy superheroes as much as I did at his age. I ate, slept and drank Superheroes practically when I was a young teen and really hope we can have this in common too. Batman and Superman were my favourites and I have already seen plenty of cool pictures that we could have a lot of fun together working on! I think all boys grow into a thirst for safe adventure and drama so hopefully my wishes will come true and soon I can be telling him about the adventures of his heroes while we select colors for Batman's cape!
Another idea is to take the cut out characters and add them into a new scene of your making. Get a bigger blank piece of paper and stick them in to make an action packed scene, or as my youngest calls it, "A Party!".
